The managing director of Denim Expert Ltd. MD Mostafiz Uddin, is a passionate believer in the education and development of the employees of the company and an advocate for improving education and knowledge throughout the Bangladesh garment industry as a whole.
MD Mostafiz Uddin’s own experiences have led him to believe that ‘knowledge is power’ – and with this principal in mind he has established an ongoing programme of staff training and knowledge sessions to aid the development of the employees of Denim Expert Ltd.
All of the training sessions are organized by MD Mostafiz Uddin and presented by him, or in conjunction with experts in their field and cover all areas of the factory and product development process from range building. design and development, fabric selection production and finishing.
CBI MARKET INTELLIGENCE TRAINING:
One important training initiative undertaken by MD Mostafiz Uddin was the organization of staff training by the CBI in cooperation with the BGMEA in June, 2015 called ‘’CBI MARKET INTELLIGENGE’’. CBI was established in 1971 and is an Agency of the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs and part of the development cooperation effort of the foreign relations of the Netherlands.
The training involves research on trends and developments in the European market over a 2 day period. Two employees of Denim Expert Ltd. were nominated to join the training, which included:
- Analysing how trends develop and translating that information into ‘market right’ product for the market . This process involves:
Analysing the core business retail product according to they type of business customer (retailer/ brand or wholesaler, for example)..
Selecting the seasonal fashion trends
Creating fashion themes
Target group choice
Product style planning and seasonal strategies
Fabrics, Yarns, Artworks

The importance of formulating good research questions and market research;
How to use CBI’s Market Intelligence platform;
How to implement an export marketing plan.
The latest trends and developments in the European market.
- Market entry: How to build business with the customer through:
Exhibition at trade shows, including trade fair promotion
Buyer missions: incoming and outgoing
E market trade platform business solutions
Tailor made (by CBI coaches) digital distant matching between suppliers and vendors
WORKSHOP ABOUT CHEMICALS & PROCESSES::
MD Mostafiz Uddin has taken it upon himself to secure training opportunities for employees outside of Bangladesh and recently, Mr. Salahuddin, our washing GM conducted a wash training programme regarding the use of chemical finishing processes in Italy..
The training was focussed on increasing the use of green chemicals, to eradicate the use of PP treatments and bleach in the washing process and the reduction of water consumption.
The knowledge gained by Mr. Salahuddin during his training is both invaluable to him as an individual, helping in the development of his career, but also to us as a company as he is now implementing his knowledge and experiences in our daily bulk production.
INTERNAL TRAINING SESSIONS:
In addition to external training sessions in partnership with external organizations, MD Mostafiz Uddin regularly dedicates his time to inform and educate employees within the various departments of the company.
Training covers all aspects of the production process, from design and development through to the finishing of product to the end – customers’ specifications regarding finishing and packaging.
‘Knowledge is Power’ as the mantra says and the employees who attend the training sessions, or our ‘Inspired People’ as we like to call them, benefit greatly from the efforts made by MD Mostafiz Uddin to further their education about the denim industry and are grateful that they are given the opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge in their roles within the company to enable them to fulfill their roles more effectively.
